I was walking in the water today and I hit some lag where it wasn't letting me walk out side of a invisible box This has happened to me before and I found it normally fixes it self by logging out and then back in. So I logged out and back in, but when I logged back in I had lost almost everything in my inventory, including a 160-some gold
Has this happened to anyone else? Was time set back again? (must have been set quite far back) And is there anyway to recover my things?

The water has nothing to do with that.
When you suddenly seem to be trapped in an invisible box and no matter what direction you go, you can only go a few steps and then you seem to hit an invisible wall... that is caused by being disconnected from the server. The client software on your computer lets you take a few steps, but you can't keep going without data from the server. If the data isn't coming, you can't go any farther. You also can't talk or do a lot of other things.
If you log out to close the client software and then restart it and log back in, you will be able to pick up exactly where you left off so long as the game server is still running and no other problems have occurred.
On the other hand, you may have been disconnected because the server crashed. Usually I can see this and restart the server in about two seconds. The problem is that some data is almost always lost in a server crash. Then the server picks up from the most recent save point. A save point is the last time that the server data was saved. This happens whenever the server receives a save command.
Any player or admin can trigger a save by typing /save in the dialog box at any time. I have put in automatic save commands at every zone transition. So any time anyone goes to a new zone, the server data is saved for everyone. As a result, a lot less data has been lost in server crashes lately.
Not counting that huge one where we lost two entire sessions worth of data. That was different. The server crashed, but we not only lost data, we somehow had the entire accounts file wiped. That doesn't just cause things to revert to a previous time period. That would mean all characters are wiped out and everyone would have to start over from scratch. We keep backups after each session so we just loaded a backup. That way, people wouldn't have to start over, they would just start where the previous session ended because that's when the backup was made.
Then, we saw Murphy's Law in action. Murphy's Law is an alleged law of physics that says, "Anything that can go wrong, will go wrong." Well, it turns out that the one and only time we had the accounts data file wiped out by a weird server crash was also the one and only time we did not back up the data after the previous session. So the backup file was two sessions out of date.
Sorry about that. There was nothing we could do at that point.
Since then we have resumed making backups after every session. We've also had very few unexplained server crashes. The one this session seems to have been caused by a bug in a script and we know which script. We should have that fixed before next session.
I presume you mean you lost 160 copper pieces, not 160 gold pieces. I doubt very much that anyone in this game has ever had 160 gold pieces or anywhere near that much. Someday that will happen, but not so far.
If you tell Tronor about your problem during the next session, he may be willing to give you 160 copper pieces to replace the ones that were lost and items as well. Especially since you have volunteered to become a priest of the Fellowship.

Ah yes, while I love Murphys law for the humorous aspect, it can be quite the pain when your on the receiving end As for the gold to copper you are correct in your assumption, it just simply a force of habit from other games. And thank you for your help and explanation, I must say this makes me realize the worth of currency in this game compared to others.
