Work on Magic of the Gods has stopped. This is due primarily to completely unacceptable actions by one of our software vendors that have made key software unusable. Our efforts over a period of more than a year to get this resolved have failed despite repeated promises by the vendor that they would not keep doing the things that are causing the problem. Despite that, they just keep doing it and we have lost confidence that they will ever stop causing these problems or that we can ever be confident that we can count on their software to help keep Magic of the Gods running.
They have also been unable to deliver on key promises for further software development that they led us to believe would be completed a year ago.
The only way to solve this problem without the vendor's cooperation is to switch to an entirely new game engine. We have been in talks with two other vendors about this for months, but have not reached a deal with anyone.
Ironically, we have the ability to obtain one of the best game engines in existence and a suite of software development tools that goes with it on terms that we can afford. Unfortunately, we don't have the money to pay the people we need to use those software tools and at this point we would have to start over almost from scratch to make Magic of the Gods run on a new game engine.
I also cannot continue to put a lot of time into this myself without getting paid.
One vendor has offered to provide us with programmers, but I haven't been able to get them to quote a firm price and if they did, it would probably be more than I have the money to pay.
I have not given up on Magic of the Gods and if we have to start all over again, we might even do a completely different game. But right now, all work has stopped on Magic of the Gods and I don't know when or if we can resume.
For all of you who played the game, helped with the game, volunteered to help with the game but never got the chance and those who posted on the forums, thank you for your support. I have not given up, but I thought you should know that work on the game has stopped.

P.S. If anybody has any thoughts on how to solve these problems or if anyone wants to buy the rights to Magic of the Gods, let me know.
