I decided to move the music thread here so from now on this will be the Magic of the Gods music discussion ;D
Im working on a new peace for the first area. I also have a midi almost done for a dessert theme if there is a dessert area in the game. If not i can always hold onto it...or make another one later if i dont end up liking how this one turns out. The midi for the first area should be done around 12 if i keep working at it.
I also plan on touching up the intro theme, if not changing it completely, and we will see wich one charles likes better. So...time to get to work.

Update- My internet was off for a little bit so i couldnt get on...but yes that means i just worked on some midi's. I almost have the first area midi done..its taking longer then expected only because i dont want to have to make alot of changes to it. It should be up later tonight or in the morning.

I tried to add your music into version 1.52 of the game. We have game editor software that is supposed to make it easy to add music and other sound effects. The first thing I discovered is that it doesn't allow us to add music to the starting area. So I tried to add it to the first zone most players come to. Before I can add it to the zone, I first have to add it to a database of sound files. The game editor won't add it. It doesn't seem to recognize it as a midi file.
I have no idea what the problem is. Does anyone else have any ideas?
Magick, do you have any other formats you can convert it to? That might be worth a try. We're supposed to be able to handle midi files, but since that's not working I thought maybe one of the other formats would be worth a try.

......after all this work lol. Umm i can try to convert it to mp3 but i highly doubt it will accept it. Let me try a few other things in the midi file. I might be able to figure out something.
Sorry its taking so long for this midi, ive been up for like 4 hours doing this one. Its taking longer then expected but almost finished. Il keep you guys updated.
Im converting the file right now so il post the link up as soon as its done, let me know if this works, if not then i think i have another idea.
Ok, well lets try this:
>link deleted by admin because it appeared to contain spyware< Let me know what happens tommorow.

For some reason the files on the engine sometimes get mixed up...yea its weird but try to put the file on your desktop and then try to upload it to the editor. That might also fix the problem.

A spyware virus called TotalSecure 2009.exe attempted to load onto my computer when I downloaded the file you linked to above. It turns out that it was blocked by my antivirus software. Still, that's a problem. I don't know if it's on your computer or on the site you uploaded it to. If anyone else got it, below is a link to some removal instructions that seem legit. I mean the manual removal instructions. I wouldn't be willing to run their software, not even the one to detect it. Check to see if the processes are running and the files are present as indicated and if they're not, you don't have it. Here's the link: www.removal-instructions.com/removeTotalSecure2009.html

I scanned your files that I downloaded and found no viruses. The source of the virus seems to be a browser help object (BHO) on the website you uploaded your files to.

After the scanning showed no virus threat, I listened to the music and it was okay, but when I tried to play it again, I get no sound at all. I'm not sure what's wrong. The first file you originally sent me still works. Both of the other two won't play. One played once only. The other never did.

Hmm..thats weird. And i will have to switch uploaders then, but im not trying to hijack your computer charles lol. But really that is weird so let me make a few more adjustments but it doesnt seem to be a problem on my end. Would it be better to set up a time today where i can give you the file directly? I should be on here for the open server later.
Wich brings me to my next question...i dont get off work until like 3-4, any way we can keep the server open so i can make sure i have time to check out the game and the diffrent areas, it would really help. If not i can try to take this thursday off. Thanks.
Update-
Try to open the file with media player (if you havent already) i know some players dont accept wav files.

I got another one done but im not compilling it until we figure out the error with the midi's. That way i only have to do it once. Hopefully something works out.
Make that 2...i was up all night lol. I have them ready to go as soon as we can figure out the problem and i can find a uploader with no viruses...

Here is the latest midi for Magic Of The Gods. I made this midi for a castle theme but charles feel free to put it wherever you see fit. Charles told me that there is a virus on this uploader page so please scan the file after downloading. Here is the link- www.mediafire.com/?hmtm5ym42jfEnjoy.

Okay, I put the music files on the desktop like you suggested and suddenly I was able to access them from within the game editor. The one that played once on the media player and then wouldn't play still won't play. The first one will play from within the game editor. I'll try the castle one next.
I haven't actually added the music to the game because if I do that while the file is in the desktop, then the file won't be included in the bundle of files that people download. If I put it in there, that won't help because the game client software will be looking for it on the desktop.
Getting it to play from the desktop hasn't solved the problem, but it is progress.

Ok, let me check out a few more options, on a lighter note, how is it? The music i mean? Is that one alright to implement into the game. If not i can make some changes, if so i can start on another one now. Thanks.

I'm willing to add the first one. I haven't been able to get any others to play.
